The HATE that is spread by people who think they are so much better is amazing. And the sad part is, most who read this will think I’m talking about someone else. No, I’m talking about the average citizen.
Fear and hatred have completely poisoned this country to its very core. I can point to so many things, but mainly all I have to say is one word to bring it out. Muslims.
I’ve watched in horror and disbelief as time and time again the ‘common,’ ‘good’ people of this country go out of their way to make life worse for Muslims. Let me put it this way. Awhile back, some woman strangled and drowned her own children in the bathtub and sent them to be with Jesus.
The first thing people asked was, “What is wrong with her?” Not what is wrong with her religious beliefs. Some crazy Muslim comes along and kills people to send them to his god and we don’t ask what was wrong with him, we ask what was wrong with his religion. Why is that? Why is there a double standard?
And sadly, it just keeps on going.... On the anniversary of 9/11 some Muslims organized a march for peace in our nation's capital. Suddenly a group of bikers organized a huge bike ride, but were denied a permit. So illegally, they staged a protest against the Muslims who were organizing for peace. Instead of stopping their bikes and standing together, putting the “United” back in these States of America, they roared through D.C. on the bikes trying to make sure that the Muslims gathered couldn’t hear their speakers.
Bravo ‘average American’s’ you successfully told them! Screw peace, long live hatred!
The best part was the people on Facebook cheering them on. When I confronted one, she was quick to point out that she herself had visited the site responsible for organizing the Muslim march. She said, and I quote here:
“The muslims, according to their website, originally were organized to march to demand their "rights," and demand sharia law for all of the US. When the backlash begain, then they took that off the website and put up the other stuff about love, unity and unicorn farts.”
Reading that...made me realize...the terrorists won. When they rammed those planes into the towers, the effectively divided this country. They pointed out how the ignorant assholes, who believe whatever they are told, will constantly regurgitate ‘facts’ they can’t back up, that probably never happened. Then they will use language to tear down ‘good’ things.
Fact is, I’m sick of it. There is SO MUCH HATE here. Between the hatred for the Gay Community and the Muslims, I’m suffocating from how much putrid bile is thrown about that is absolutely untrue. Hate is preached by our major media outlets and is gobbled up by the masses. From grown men assaulting kids in stores for wearing a pink headband (which may or may not even be true), to the ‘common man’ organizing a protest against peace because the people wanting peace are Muslim, its got to stop somewhere. There is a reason why people here refer to themselves as ‘Murican’s, because there IS no more United in these States of America.
(( On a happy note, I almost wept with joy when a friend posted a video of a clip of “What Would You Do” where a US Soldier stood up against a kid for making a big deal that the clerk of a store was Muslim. It was a beautiful vision who what this country should be....))
