There’s something truly amazing about fall, though this year, its been a bit...odd. There were several things earlier in the year that showed the world that nature was a bit off.
It snowed in May here. That’s beyond crazy that it would happen. Immediately after, though, we started seeing some really odd things. Mom was quick to report that all the summer flowers bloomed at once. Here we noticed that some of the trees seemed to not understand what was going on, one particular tree that blooms in the spring bloomed 3 times over the summer....
Last month, Lisa and I went walk out walking on the first really cool day of Fall, and we noticed that...they Honeysuckle had bloomed again. Lisa enjoys the flavor of the flower, so she went over to get some, but...the flowers were malformed. They didn’t have the sex organs....
We were very excited to see the leaves fall off the trees, but...there was no colors. In fact, sections and branches of leaves would just turn pale brown and fall in the same day, leaving the rest of the tree green.
I think the oddest thing about the whole thing is...only a few people have even noticed.... All this seems like it would be something major with the ecosystem, and it will probably balance out, but...still.... Why haven’t there been news articles about it? I know its not isolated to certain parts of the country, this is truly a widespread thing....
In the end, I just don’t get it. Some major is happening and its being seemingly ignored. *sigh* Oh well, at least Halloween is coming up and its not being effected...unless you figure in that Christmas items have been stocked in stores since mid September.... I made a prediction about five years ago, that kids would be dressing up as Santa or the reindeer in a decade.
Think about it.... A full month and a half before Halloween, there are christmas trees and decorations in most stores. There were Christmas decorations showing up in Wal-Mart before the first official day of Fall. What the hell is going on with the world?
Who knows, maybe all this WILL balance itself out...but somehow I doubt it. The seasons are going to get more skewed, the ecosystems are going to get more thrown off, and there will come a day that I give a small child dressed as Santa candy at my front door....
