Always look up

Its really hard to find something good to write about when people walk all over your life.  Heck, its hard to want to do anything but complain.  I hate when those who think they are entitled to be in your life mistreat you, bring you down, or just outright use you.

How could you not wallow in such things, get swept away by the emotion of the situation?  In the end, you have to some how rise above it all, or they win.  Some things are far more easily said than done.

Here’s the sad fact, some people in this life you cannot avoid.  Whether its family, or employees, even bosses, you have your work cut out for you.  Ignoring them is normally not fully an option, though you can avoid them as much as possible.  Changing careers or moving away is a very tough option to even contemplate, let alone pull off, and chances are, there will be worse down the road somewhere.

Once I had a really horrible neighbor, a god awful woman who screamed at her kids, calling them whores, while doing drugs on the front porch.  Besides being loud and obnoxious, the woman controlled the community well, which meant everyone had to pay her a very minimal fee to keep their water turned on.  I was apparently the only person that would pay it on time, or even pay it at all.  She would stand out on her front porch and just scream at the neighbors, calling them by name, for hours.

Even though I was the most faithful of the people, she would still get on my case, and get on it hard.  Out of all the options I had, I ended up drilling my own well. *sigh* It cost a fortune, but it was worth it.  It raised the value of the home, and got her out of the direct path of my life.  Which was a good thing, as she a couple of months later, her husband cheated on her, she made a big deal about her cocaine dealer being wonderful in bed, and soon they made up and got back together....  I heard all this in my short time outside of the house....

The solution pretty much worked, but in the end, it cost a ton, and it was a more specialized thing.  When its overbearing parents, or a boss, that’s a much tougher thing.  You have to learn how to deal with it.  Every situation is different, but you do not have to deal with it if you don’t want to.  If it’s a boss, just work through it, they won’t get rid of a good worker, and face it, you’re a better worker than your boss thinks you are.

Same really goes for life in general.  Always be the better person, and never let their words get to you.  You are who you are, not who anyone believes you are.  Period.  Enjoy this life, find whatever enjoyment you can, and there is plenty to enjoy, no matter how bad it is, trust me.
