I hate it when the well runs dry. Its easy to do, hit a point of art where you’ve just created so much recently, you cannot create anymore. I loathe to admit it, but its happened quite a bit recently. I think it comes from transcribing so much of Lisa’s book at once.
I typed around 50 pages in a week, on top of writing blog posts, tweeting, doing facebook, talking on social networks to other bloggers, and watching TV with my wife. By the end of the week, I looked at my blank WordPerfect screen and threw up my hands....
A Brainless Nod is a blog about love and life, passionately written using articles, poetry, and serial web fiction. We are Dan and Lisa, and we both enjoy writing immensely. We hope you enjoy this look at our passions, our life together, and our opinions. Posts are sporadic due to us entering college, but expect new stuff every now and then!

The Well is Dry

Why I Avoid Politics
I tend not to get too political on our blog. I do it for several reasons. There are plenty of political blogs out there, and many have some valid opinions, and sometimes I’ll even join in on those discussions.
But when it comes to our blog here, I do like to point out some things here and there that need to be changed. I’ve never liked getting into the discussions here over who is right and wrong. One of the main reasons of that is that people are so brainwashed as to what is going on with politics.

My Opinion on Domestic Violence
There are many, many, many causes out there to blog about and bring attention to. So many horrible things happen to so many people so often, that its impossible to single out any to bring light to, to bring attention to, so that someone might be able to do something about it. There’s one in particular though, that I’ve run into so many times in my life, I simply cannot ignore....
Domestic Violence, it has many connotations, but in the end, out of women that I have met in my life, I can point to near all of them and tell you about some form of abuse that they’ve had to deal with, from a husband, boyfriend, or loved one. Its sickening, truly sickening, how many stats there are on the subject.

(poem) They Struggle, Hidden....
Sometimes in life
We meet those people
Filled with strife
Not helped by the steeple
But can you help them
As they hide their tears
Struggling to hide the stem
Of that which creates their fears?
They have a turmoil
Deep within their soul
That makes life dreadful
An emotional steamroll
Can you stop someone
Who is making their final stand
Before they find themselves fallen
From the Earth’s wonderful sand?
Can you make them care
About what life has to offer?
Can you make them dare
To face all this life’s horror?
No matter how bad it gets
Life is worth living
There will always be duets
That will keep you singing
If only you can make them see
How great it all truly is
To live this life so free
Once you break your own bond’s kiss.
